Full Job Description
Has shared professional and managerial responsibility for a case load of patients during their neonatal period, within the Paediatric Critical Care Unit and has responsibility for both clinical and staff governance issues. Ensures that a high standard of personalised nursing care is delivered to infants and their families in partnership with all members of the multidisciplinary team. Has responsibility for supervision of the assessment of care needs and the delivery and maintenance of optimal care outcomes. Is expected to motivate staff to provide a high quality service by acting as a role model. Provides expert professional and clinical care advice to infant’s carers and the multi-disciplinary team. Is responsible for providing specialist education and training programmes for health care professionals and other professional groups. Implements and undertakes research activities ensuring evidence-based practice in the specialist area. Liaises with the pharmacy department and other nurse practitioners/ specialists in the delivery of non medical prescribing and safe management of medicines.
This post requires the post holder to have a PVG Scheme membership/ record. If the post holder is not a current PVG member for the required regulatory group (i.e. child and/or adult) then an application will need to be made to Disclosure Scotland and deemed satisfactory before they can begin in post
