Job Overview:
Shriners Children’s is the premier pediatric burn, orthopaedic, spinal cord injury, cleft lip and palate, and pediatric subspecialties medical center. We have an opportunity for a full-time Nurse Practitioner.
Responsibilities:The certified nurse practitioner (CNP) provides care that requires knowledge and skills obtained from advanced formal education and clinical experience. The CNP, in collaboration with the physicians and interdisciplinary team, may provide preventive, acute, specialized and primary care services to patients consistent with the nurse’s education and certification. Services provided by the CNP may include, but are not limited to the following: 1) assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and management of identified health needs; 2) ordering and interpretation of diagnostic and/or laboratory tests; 3) formulating, documenting, and monitoring treatment plans; 4) routine wound or post-operative dressing management; 5) ordering interdisciplinary consults; and 6) ordering pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic therapies and/or interventions. In addition to standard CNP responsibilities, duties also include the day to day management and development of the nurse practitioner program at SCH-C.
Qualifications:
Education
MSN-NP (PNP or FNP)
Certification/Licensure
RN in state of practice
Pediatric or Family Nurse Practitioner certification
Experience
Two years’ RN experience required, two years’ Pediatric RN experience preferred
Other
Current full vaccination status required
