Trainee Nurse Hysteroscopist
To act as a source of expert advice and information about hysteroscopy to nurses and doctors and other members of the multidisciplinary team. Providing a high standard, quality service inclusive of formulating individual management plans and follow up care and advice. Independently review the patients results, advising appropriate follow up and management in relation to the result including dictating letters to patients, clinicians and GPs Co-ordinate the care and provision of services for patients with menstrual dysfunction ensuring continuity of evidence-based care. To discuss medical and surgical treatment options and obtain informed consent for specific procedures in line with relevant Trust policies and protocols ensuring full explanation is given.
Identify patients requiring cervical smears and perform necessary procedure in the outpatient hysteroscopy clinic. Requires smear course. To participate in outpatient clinics with medical colleagues seeing new and reviewing patients. Caseload management of women attending the outpatient hysteroscopy service.
