Registered Nurse
LDN02-An exciting opportunity has arisen for an RNLD / RNID / to work in a nursing environment providing support to people of all ages with learning disabilities to maintain their health and wellbeing and to live their lives as fully as possible. Being a learning disability nurse includes teaching people the skills to look after themselves, keep themselves healthy (both physically and mentally) or to find work, and helping with daily activities such as going shopping, or out with friends. You’ll need to coordinate clients’ care draw up care plans and monitor the implementation of recommendations and will work in teams with other nurses and other health and social care professionals. As well as helping clients’ to stay healthy and making sure that they get any medical care they need, you’ll also provide support to their families, carers and friends. The work is based in community or supported living settings. The ideal candidate would be highly motivated and enthusiastic to develop both themselves, and services provided, with a commitment to empower those they support to develop independence within their home environment.
