We are a busy, motivated and dynamic multidisciplinary Team.
The post holder will rotate between the Cardiac Catheter Labs and the Cardiac Cath Lab Day Ward Area .
They will play a key role to ensure high standards of nursing care within the Department.
The post holder will work Monday to Friday , 3 long days and 1 Early shift.
We have 2 Cardiac Catheter Laboratories in the purpose built Acute Admissions Unit at Watford General. They were opened in 2009 and are now undergoing Refurbishment to accommodate new and exciting advanced technology in Cardiology.
As well as Diagnostic Angiography, Percutaneous Coronary Intervention and PPM Implantation service for Elective and Inpatient, we provide Complex Device and EP service.
This is a wonderful opportunity to work in a new and exciting Environment and be part of a Dynamic Team.
Experience in Cardiology will be beneficial , but happy to take newly qualified nurses as full training will be provided.

The Staff Nurse post is for the Cardiac Catheter Laboratories within West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust. The post holder will have a key role to ensure high standards of nursing care within the cardiac catheter laboratories and adjacent day ward are met. In the absence of the Senior Nurse, the post holder will ensure that these high standards are maintained.
The aim of the West Hertfordshire NHS Trust Cardiologyserviceis to build a team of experienced cardiology nurses the broad remit of the post holder is:
- To provide a high standard of care to patients and ensure all fundamental aspects of care are effectively delivered and reported to the senior Nurse
- To assess care needs, develop, implement and evaluate programmes of care
- To rotate between the day ward and cardiac catheter laboratories
- Assist in the pre assessment for patients undergoing invasive procedures and cardioversions
- To work proactively with the multi/disciplinary team, in conjunction with the senior Nurse
