We are currently searching for an RN to join our team.
Job Title: Registered Nurse
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Provides direct nursing care to residents in accordance with organizational policies, procedures and programs, as well as CRNBC Standards of Practice.
2. Collaborates with nursing colleagues to plan, implement and evaluate care given to residents.
3. Administers medications according to established policies and procedures. Applies and changes dressings following wound care plan.
4. Maintains records by documenting symptoms and conditions of residents, nursing interventions and other activities. Reports changes in residents’ condition to supervisor and / or physician.
5. Participates in unit and staff meetings, medication reviews, family meetings and care conferences, to communicate residents’ assessments, needs and status to supervisor and / or physician.
6. Plans and provides teaching and counselling to residents and their families.
7. Provides work direction to staff by monitoring work activities and reassigning duties as necessary.
8. Orients staff by demonstrating work routines and providing informal training sessions. Provides informal input into staff evaluations.
9. Maintains a safe working environment by following health and safety guidelines such as fire, disaster, WHMIS and infection control. Reports unsafe or faulty equipment to the designated supervisor. Completes incident and employee injury reports.
10. Monitors safety in the residents living environment and staff working environment.
11. Reports risks, hazards, near misses, unsafe situations, incidents and accidents to Supervisor/ Manager/ Designate.
12. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education, Training and Experience:
Graduation from an approved school of nursing with current practicing registration with the College of Registered Nursing Association of British Columbia or the Registered Psychiatric Nursing Association of British Columbia.
Valid First Aid Certificate.

(iii) Physical ability to perform the duties of the position
(iv) Ability to operate related equipment.
