Registered Nurse- Sexual Health Band 5 Training Post

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a registered nurse to join us.

The successful post holder will commence as a band 5 Registered nurse and commence a training pathway to become and band 6 Specialist Nurse in Sexual Health & Contraception.

The band 5 Nurse within sexual health services will work in a busy integrated sexual health peripheral environment, within a multidisciplinary team.

The staffing structure is designed to support the delivery of core services at a variety of locations throughout Derbyshire to improve sexual health outcomes for the population.

The post holder will assess, plan and deliver all aspects of sexual health care and will need to be able to demonstrate the ability to undertake duties concurrent with this post from the list below in line with Faculty of Sexual Reproductive Healthcare (FSRH), British Association for Sexual Health and HIV (BASHH) and NICE guidance:

• Promotion/issuing of all methods of contraception (for example the fitting of long acting reversible contraception (SDI)
• Screening for sexually transmitted infections (STIs)
• Perform diagnostic procedures and provide treatment and management of STIs
• Microscopy
• Cryotherapy

Agreement in relation to which requirements apply will be reached individually.

We employ around 4,200 substantive staff, caring for patients in 11 community hospitals and more than 30 health centres, as well as in clinics, GP practices, schools, care homes and, increasingly, in people’s own homes and via virtual consultations.
